I am typically the person who is kicking myself for missing the shot :) However, I do believe (even though I am still a beginner) that I have progressed over the past year in timing photos appropriately rather than being shutter crazy. I attribute this mainly to putting the digital camera in time-out, and shooting with film.

I really enjoyed your writing.

Best Regards.

I try I always try to catch, to feel the moment just a while before happens.
It's not easy but you know that it's important

Tanya, that is a good point! I think the skill lies not in simply having the camera pressed to your face and "ready" 100% of the time, but to learn how to "feel" flow of the shoot, understand the movement so that you can anticipate when that "decisive moment" will happen, and be ready for it beforehand, rather than trying to react to it after the fact!

This is a nice ideal, but you have to be careful not to end up with a camera-shaped suntan on your face :P
