Are you using Flock? You should be…

I first checked out flock when it was in it’s early stages… it was an interesting concept, but not nearly mature enough for prime time. My, how things change. I downloaded the 1.0 RC1 the other week, and I am frankly blown away.

In short, if you are a blogger and are using flickr (most photobloggers I would guess!) you should be using flock.

If you aren’t familiar with it, Flock is a free browser, built on firefox (so all your nifty firefox extensions still work!) that has integrated “Social” features. In other words, it’s firefox on steroids.

The best of these (to me) is that it has a built in blogging client interface (I’m writing this post in it right now) and it has a built in flickr stream browser/interface/uploader. just these two features are so incredibly useful, that I am starting to wonder how I ever survived without it. Other nifty goodies are a “drag-and-drop” web clipboard that you can drag text, images, whatever too for quick reference in the sidebar. It also integrates tightly with twittr, facebook, Del.icio.us, photobucket, youtube and tons more “web 2.0″ sites.

If you use any of these sites, you owe it to yourself to check out flock.

  1. I’d second all you said here if only for one point: not “all your nifty firefox extensions” will work, some of the good but neglected ones won’t.
